What is Research Showcase?
The IIIT Delhi Research Showcase is an annual event to exhibit the prominent research and development work being carried out at IIIT-D and other premier institutions in Delhi NCR. The research showcase is aimed for industry professionals and academic fraternity so that they can discover research and development work at IIIT-D as well as other institutions identify potential areas of collaboration. It brings the most knowledgeable researchers from both academia for example the IITs as well as industry for example Microsoft, Google, IBM, TCS, and the likes, to serve as jury and speakers in the event. Last year's Research Showcase had approximately 500 attendees from schools and institutions in Delhi NCR.
Who are invited?
The research showcase is aimed for industry professionals and academic fraternity so that they can discover research and development work at IIIT-D as well as other institutions and identify potential areas of collaboration. We particularly invite students and faculty members from various technical institutes all over India. Pre-registration for the event is mandatory.
Why Research Showcase?
Research Showcase brings forth the research accomplishments of scholars at IIIT-D and other premier research institutes in NCR. Exhibits of real-world applications will be on view and open for discussion, giving an opportunity to draw critical insights, and be a part of creative and intellectual activities. Faculty, staff, business and industry leaders will come together for a day of collaboration portraying how research adds value to the community.
Danish Contractor is a Research Scientist at IBM Research India where he develops innovative research solutions with real world applications using Machine Learning & Natural Language Processing in the areas of Education, Tourism, Social Media & Customer Relationship Management, Information Management & Noisy Data Cleansing. He has over 9 years of experience in various aspects of Software Development and Research. He has published fifteen papers in top ranked analytics conferences and has ten US patents from his work. Danish holds a B.E. (Computer Engineering) from the Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (New Delhi) and an M.Phil (Advanced Computer Science) from the University of Cambridge.
IIITD's annual Research Showcase invites distinguished speakers from the industry and the academia to present their research on cutting-edge technologies. This is an opportunity to hear from eminent speakers and get benefited. These talks are intended for faculty, industry professionals, journalists, students, parents, and other tech-savvy visitors.
Any peer-reviewed published work can be submitted as a poster at Research Showcase 2017. We encourage high quality submissions in the fields of CSE/ECE/CB/Applied Maths. The work will be judged by top researchers from industry as well as academia. You need to submit an abstract (250 words) of the accepted paper including title, authors’ name and affiliations, and publication details: venue name, year and link to the paper. Awards will be presented to the Best Technical Poster and the Most Innovative Idea.
This track is aimed at senior doctoral students who have completed 3 years towards their PhD. Students are invited to submit an extended abstract in two page IEEE double column format. Abstract must clearly convey the idea and contributions of their doctoral research work. This can incorporate work in progress. Accepted submissions will be presented as posters during the poster session. The poster presentations will also give the students a platform to interact with their peers and experienced jury members, and receive valuable feedback .
The Innovation Challenge is an opportunity to showcase your research and development efforts to the world. First, a team advertises its work on stage in a timed round [2 mins] in front of a jury and an audience, followed by a demo session [2 hours]. The idea that receives the maximum number of user votes wins the user choice award in demo category. Another award will be given for the best demo in terms of research contribution category.

6. Can I submit more than one poster?
At max. two entries are allowed per participant. Also one participant can register for more than one event given that there is no intersection of event timings.
7. What poster dimensions should I use?
Prepare your posters in A0 paper size in portrait mode. You will need to bring a printed copy of your poster to the poster session. We will arrange for the necessary support system (poster stands, clips etc.).
